West of Scotland Housing Association launches free cost of living tenant support service
West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has launched a free service to help their tenants with the emotional and practical impact of the cost of living crisis.
Tenants will have 24/7 access to a range of services including unlimited access to counselling, information and advice service and trauma support which can be accessed online or by phone.
The Tenant Support & Wellbeing service will be provided by Care First who WSHA also use to provide the same support to staff.
This service will be provided in addition to an existing range of support services WSHA offers tenants including Welfare Rights, Money and Energy Advice, Digital Support, Food Parcels and Handyperson service.
Jennifer Cairns, director of corporate services, WSHA, said: “We know these are challenging times for everyone and one of our key business priorities for 2023/24 is to support tenants with the impact of the cost of living crisis. Working with Care First will enhance the support we give our 4200 tenants by providing free 24/7 access to a range of counselling and advice services to help their mental health and wellbeing.”
