Wheatley Homes South appoints Alex Lamb as new managing director
Alex Lamb has been appointed interim managing director at Wheatley Homes South in Dumfries & Galloway.
Wheatley Homes South, part of Wheatley Group, has around 10,400 homes for social rent across the region.
Scotland’s second biggest Registered Social Landlord has previously announced a massive new-build programme, which will see around 800 new affordable homes built across 12 areas in Dumfries & Galloway to help meet housing demand in the area.
Ms Lamb, who will leave her role as head of housing at Wheatley Homes East in May, also part of Wheatley Group, said: “I’m looking forward to working with the team at Wheatley Homes South.
“We know there is a huge demand for affordable housing in Dumfries and Galloway and I am confident our ambitious new-build plans will go a long way to meeting that need.”
Alex will replace Alan Glasgow, who has been promoted to Group Managing Director of Registered Social Landlords, with responsibilities for Neighbourhood Environmental Team services, at Wheatley Group.
She added added: “I am also keen that Wheatley Homes South builds on our legacy of creating opportunities for young people across the region.
“Under Alan’s leadership, the team engaged regularly with schools and colleges, and that will continue as we inform young people of the opportunities in housing and that you don’t have to leave the area for a career.”
Jo Boaden CBE, Wheatley Homes South chair, said: “I am very pleased to be able to welcome Alex to the Wheatley Homes South team. Her wealth of experience makes her the ideal candidate to build on Alan’s excellent work and lead the team as we continue to deliver the levels of service our customers have come to expect.
“She is a fantastic leader who is committed to driving up standards and making our tenants’ homes, lives and communities better.”
