Wheatley projects shortlisted for four prestigious home awards
Wheatley Group has had four projects shortlisted for one of the country’s most prestigious housing awards.
GHA, Loretto Housing Association and Lowther Homes – all partners in Wheatley – have all been shortlisted in the Scottish Home Awards 2018.
Two GHA housing developments – Dougrie Drive in Castlemilk, and Brand Street in Cessnock – are finalists in the Large Affordable Housing Development of the Year (Social Rent).
GHA and Lowther Homes have also been nominated in the Renovation of the Year category for the refurbishment of the former tram depot at Brand Street, which was converted into 20 homes for mid-market rent.
Loretto Housing Association’s 49-home development at Barclay Street, Springburn, has also been shortlisted in the Small Affordable Housing Development of the Year (Social Rent).
David Fletcher, Wheatley Group director of regeneration, said: “We always want to build homes and communities people are proud to live in.
“I’m delighted we’ve been recognised in this way by these prestigious awards.”
The Scottish Home Awards was founded in 2007 to recognise excellence in the Scottish housebuilding industry.
This year’s winners will be announced on Thursday 14 June in Edinburgh.
