Whiteinch & Scotstoun to strengthen teams through innovative training

Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association (WSHA) is set to launch an ambitious training and development programme in partnership with Socialudo, a social enterprise specialising in serious games that inspire real-world change.
This year-long initiative, beginning in 2025, will support the delivery of WSHA’s 2025–2030 Business Plan and community priorities, using creative methods to bring teams together, enhance motivation, and deepen understanding across the organisation and community.
The programme blends training, research, and evaluation with a clear focus: to build stronger connections between staff, committees, and tenants. Participants will explore complex challenges through immersive role-play and creative problem-solving—learning how to collaborate, communicate, and plan more effectively for the future.
Professor Vikki McCall, co-founder of Socialudo, said: “By stepping into different roles and perspectives, participants build empathy and understanding—qualities that are vital in creating communities that people are proud to call home.”
This innovative programme aligns closely with WSHA’s social purpose: to deliver high-quality services in a responsive, people-centred way. Serious games provide an ideal vehicle for this journey—bridging difference, breaking down silos, and enabling co-production in practice.
James Ward, chief executive officer at Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association, said: “Socialudo will create an interactive environment that will allow the voices of everyone to be heard through playing out real life scenarios. This is a live learning opportunity for WSHA to bring our management committee, staff, community and local stakeholders together to help shape our service priorities for the next five years. We are so excited to use our relationship with Socialudo to enhance our community engagement and identify our community investment priorities for the life of our new business plan.”
Through a tailored mix of play-based training, facilitated reflection, and impact assessment, the programme will:
• Support strategic thinking and future-proofing
• Build capacity in co-production, communication, and problem-solving
• Enhance community engagement and service collaboration
• Generate lasting, measurable change across the organisation
With this new partnership, Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association is investing in more than just staff development—it’s investing in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and community-led change.
