Williamsburgh holds joint Residents Conference & Annual General Meeting
For the first time in its 37 year history, Williamsburgh Housing Association took the decision to combine its Residents Conference and Annual General Meeting.
Given that the numbers attending exceeded previous records for such events, this proved to be a successful strategy.
Delegates were welcomed to Paisley’s Glynhill Hotel by chair Margaret Symons, who not only did an excellent job in chairing the proceedings but shared her reflections on the Association’s activities, over the past 12 months.
In addition to the formal business of the AGM, the evening’s agenda included workshops, competitions and stands where information on matters such as benefits, budgeting, energy and money advice was available.
Commenting on the feedback from the event, Williamsburgh HA’s director, Gordon Williamson, said: “Delegates appreciated the opportunity to engage with the Association, while at the same time learning more about the organisation’s operational activity.”
The guest speaker for the evening was Alan McNiven, whose upbeat presentation on Paisley’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2021, was very well received.
To complement the serious business of the evening, attendees were given the opportunity to sample hand massage and get some healthy eating tips.
