Wise Group to support 50,000 households with energy advice and advocacy services
The Wise Group has committed to supporting 50,000 households with energy advice and advocacy services as it prepares to launch its #50kHomes campaign to lift people out of fuel poverty next month.
At a launch event at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, the Wise Group will call for partners to support its ambitious plans to give energy advice and advocacy support to at least 50,000 households by 2025. Norrie Kerr OBE, CEO of Energy Action Scotland, will join the event as keynote speaker.
Wise Group’s Jim Percival said: “Everyone has a right to a warm and safe home at a cost that’s affordable to them. For over 30 years the Wise Group has delivered projects to tackle fuel poverty; however we recognise there is a lot more to be done. That’s why we are renewing our focus on tackling fuel poverty by increasing our commitment to delivering in-home advice and advocacy support to those who need it most.
“We can’t deliver this alone, however. We need our partners to support us and collaborate with us to help us achieve the greatest collective impact we possibly can. Our event on 12 March will be an opportunity to learn more and pledge your support.”
The Wise Group is calling upon partners and stakeholders to come together to achieve this collective ambition and make a lasting difference to households experiencing fuel poverty and fuel fear.
The event will feature Wise Group colleagues and partners, sharing their experiences of challenging fuel poverty, as well as the journey that led us to our pledge. Group discussions will enable partners and stakeholders to bring their expertise and passion to the table, allowing us to identify areas of improvement across the sector and how we can tackle this together.
The event will take place on Thursday 12th March from 9.30am - 12.30pm at the Emirates Arena Glasgow.
