Work starts on Partick housing development
Work has begun on a consented residential development at Meadow Road in Partick which will see Titan Homes construct 45 apartments.
First proposed five years ago, the Fairfields development will be built on the grounds of a former vehicle workshop overlooking the Clydeside Expressway and an electricity substation, with the exterior clad in prefabricated curved powder-coated metal cladding panels.
The site precludes provision of landscaping or garden areas, with car parking and cycle storage contained in an undercroft area to maximise the triangular plot.
The apartments will build out two full sides of the site with a shared amenity deck on the third elevation, located above the parking below, Urban Realm reports.
Rising through seven floors, the Convery Prenty Architects designed proposal will lead directly to the River Clyde via an existing underpass.
