“Affordable housing is in high demand throughout Scotland and West Lothian is no different in that respect. The new housing at Raw Holdings will deliver much-needed affordable homes for West Lothian residents. I look forward to seeing the new homes completed and local residents moving in.

“Our 1,000 new council homes project is enormous and is fully focused on providing affordable homes for people in West Lothian and to meet the needs of our local communities. An important part of the project is the community benefits that this enormous construction project will bring with it, including training and employment opportunities for local people.”

The council also said work is due to begin on the redevelopment of at the Xcite Broxburn leisure facilities.

The development will see a totally new changing village layout, including new décor, cubicles and access to the pools, sauna and steam room.

During the refurb the SpaceBugs soft play area will also be refreshed with new kit, décor and upgrades to the internal structure.

The works have been scheduled to follow the end of the busy school holiday period with the building closed until Monday, September 5.
