Yorkhill AGM celebrates a successful year
The 35th AGM of Yorkhill Housing Association was held in the Overnewton Centre on the 19th September with members and guests celebrating the success of 203/24 and looking forward to the coming years.
During the AGM, chairperson Yvonne Alexis said that it has been a year of both challenges and opportunities. Yorkhill’s new senior management team has been working collaboratively to make their mark on the organisation and guide it forward into an increasingly technological future. She also thanked the team for their support in her first year as chair.
It was acknowledged that there are challenges given the funding issues in the wider economy at present and the Housing Emergency which the Association was responding well to.
It was also highlighted that there are several exciting projects to look forward to including the plans to redevelop the Overnewton Centre for greater use by the Yorkhill community.
Azets Audit Services was officially appointed as the external auditors after presenting the annual accounts.
Tony Mallaghan, chief executive, said: “I was especially pleased that the AGM was well attended with some new faces present. We aim to build upon the existing success of Yorkhill Housing Association to become a community anchor for the area.”
