Youngsters experience enriched play thanks to Seton Care
A child care service provided by Seton Care, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Berwickshire Housing Association (BHA), has opened a new Playskape garden in Duns.
After months of hard work and a lot of patient waiting, the children, at Little Reivers Childcare & Kreative Kids finally got to play in their brand new garden last week as it was officially opened for exploration by 3 year old Isla Rodger and 6 year old Charlie Leather, who are both from Duns.
Amanda Wilson, manager at Little Reivers & Kreative kids was delighted with the end result.
“When we first heard we’d been awarded the funding from The Big Lottery’s, Communities and Families Fund, we were over the moon,” she said.
“It’s been great planning, developing and watching the garden take shape, it’s been really hard to be patient waiting for the work was being done. But it has been worth the wait.”
Playskape is designed to ensure the children can access a wide and varied range of rich play experiences and includes an activity gym, a den area, woodland area, a mud kitchen and a newly developed area for loose parts.
Amanda says the feedback has been really positive.
She added: “Both the children and parents have commented ‘what a transformation’ ‘it’s amazing’ ‘I like all the new things, the swings and the slide’ and ‘I made curry in the mud Kitchen’.”
