Who’s it for and what’s it about?
Housing Associations and Co-operatives deal with huge amounts of information on a daily basis. Information retention has been on everyone’s mind since the rollout of GDPR. It has daunted many of us and compliance weighs heavily on our minds. However, this course aims to take a holistic look at how your organisation works with information and what senior managers should be doing to make the best use of the information the organisation has to maximise service delivery.
The outcome being that if information is handled efficiently, GDPR and other information demands should not be as daunting as many first thought. Associations have to work within the parameters of GDPR, be responsive to FOI requests and be available and able to provide information the SHR requests, all while managing the day-to-day-operation of the association.
This course will look at information at a strategic level – looking at what our aims and outcomes should be for a successful information management policy – and then also at a practical level with sessions aimed at making delegates think about the practices they undertake and how these can be made more efficient. There will also be discussions about how to optimise the use of technology and associated security measures to manage your information.

At the end of this session, delegates will be much clearer on what the aims of their organisation should be in terms of handling and managing information, ways that they can implement changes and the confidence to know that their information strategies will maximise service delivery and comply with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
