CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

This qualification explores many of the functions that are critical to housing management teams within social housing. It is suitable for those with some experience in the area, or those currently working within housing, and will explore many practical issues and challenges faced by housing officers or housing assistants.

Learners will be led by an experienced housing professional and will consider a range of topics, including: the housing system, equality and diversity, professional practice skills, occupancy, tenure and letting and rental income management. 

The qualification is delivered over approximately 9 months and the class will have a scheduled teaching day once a month, this teaching day will be delivered online and students are expected to be available for the full day.  The qualification is assessed through written assignments of, on average, 1500 -1800 words for each unit. CIH suggest learners allows 8 hours per week for study for this qualification, including teaching time, and an element of self-study and research will be required in this qualification.

Learning Outcomes 
 
On completion of this qualification, learners will: 
⦁    Be eligible for CIH Certified Practitioner CertCIH status 
⦁    Have a better understanding of the context and legislative framework that they operate in 
⦁    Feel more confident in their housing management role 
⦁    Have developed a new network of colleagues within a supportive class environment
