Housing Officer – Maternity Cover (secondment welcome)

12 Months

35 Hours per Week

Salary £32,850 plus essential car users allowance and final salary pension scheme

East Lothian Housing Association is looking for a temporary Housing Officer to cover maternity leave for 12 months from December 2019.

Working flexibly within our busy Housing Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality housing service to a group of tenants and/or sharing owners but may also be assigned to specific projects if that is what is needed to deliver excellent service. You will be expected to form productive, professional relationships with our tenants, other staff and external agencies as the basis for successfully addressing key tasks including supporting and sustaining tenancies, managing rent arrears, estate and tenancy management, allocations, void management, dealing effectively with antisocial behaviour and involving our tenants in all that we do.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills; experience of providing services, sometimes in stressful situations; strong verbal and written communication skills, and a good knowledge of housing legislation and good practice. You must work well within a team but also be happy to use your own initiative, embrace change and adapt to new ways of working. The ability to work accurately under pressure, keep excellent records and to prioritise work and meet deadlines is essential.
