Govanhill Housing Association provides a comprehensive range of services focused on the needs of tenants and owner occupiers in the Govanhill and Merrylee communities.  We carry out acquisition and improvement of tenemental stock as well as delivering a new build programme. We work closely with our subsidiary company, Govanhill Community Development Trust, whose community development and regeneration services complement our own role as a social landlord. 

We are seeking to appoint a Planned Maintenance Officer who will supervise our refurbishment and component replacement project works as well as providing a front-line service to both our tenants and owners to facilitate the development of our stock portfolio within the diverse community of Govanhill.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Asset Manager working within our small Asset Team. The candidate will be confident in providing technical supervision and quality control services for the Association’s Major Repairs & Planned Maintenance projects i.e. Stone repairs to primarily tenemental pre 1919 stock, kitchens and bathrooms replacements, major rot repair projects and common repairs to our listed buildings both for the Association and our Factored owners within the stock area.

The role requires the successful candidate to be flexible, working well both as part of our small team and on their own initiative. It is essential that the postholder can demonstrate a high degree of organisational ability, together with excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. They will be experienced in dealing with contractors, other building professionals and customers and will be able to negotiate solutions to the satisfaction of all parties. They will demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer care

This role requires inspection and access of properties, at multiple levels and externally via scaffold.
