About Us

Cernach Housing Association is a successful and well performing community-based registered social landlord (RSL) operating in Drumchapel, north west Glasgow since 1991. We own 877 homes and provide a management service to 16 sharing owners and 141 homeowners. We act as community anchor organisation for Drumchapel. Our turnover is £4.6 million, a major part of which comes from rental income.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and committed individual who will supervise the housing management team on a day-to-day basis and will provide information, support and guidance to colleagues as required with issues related to the housing management function.

Along with the Director, Head of Corporate Services, Operations Manager and Senior Maintenance Officer, the Senior Housing Officer will be part of the Association’s management team and reports directly to the Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will have

    • at least three years’ direct experience in developing and delivering a high quality housing management service, preferably within an RSL (or equivalent)
    • direct experience of policy and procedural development
    • a detailed knowledge of the legal, regulatory and best practice requirements that underpin our service
    • an ability to communicate effectively with a variety of different audiences, including public speaking/presentation skills
    • the ability to work on their own initiative, often managing competing priorities; taking ownership of issues and finding solutions to sometimes complex problems
    • Strong interpersonal and ICT skills are crucial.

Applicants should note that, due to the nature of this post, regular evening and occasional weekend work will be required.
