Visitor Levy

A series of engagement events have been set up so members of the public can take part in the current consultation process on the proposed Visitor Levy Scheme for Highland.

Edinburgh councillors are a week away from potentially approving Scotland's first Visitor Levy, a scheme aimed at raising up to £50 million annually through a 5% charge in addition to the cost of overnight accommodation.

Orkney Islands Council has added a web page dedicated to the visitor levy, allowing access to key information about the legislation, the process so far and next steps. The web page also contains a number of frequently asked questions and links to related external sites.
